Since its birth in 1953, the Chevrolet Corvette has been America’s sports car. That common refrain is not hyperbole: For most of that time, the Corvette was literally the only American-born sports car you could buy. Also for the better part of the past 60-some years, the Corvette has been a speed machine, offering similar performance to purebred European sports cars but for far less money. So what better metric than zero-to-60-mph acceleration can we track for a glimpse of the Corvette’s historical arc?
