Corvette owners love their cars and most are well versed in the specs of their vehicles as well as Corvette history. There are many online sites that contain facts about the Corvette that not everyone may know. Here is some Corvette trivia.

1. William Durant, the founder of GM, said a wallpaper pattern he saw in a Paris hotel in 1908 inspired the "Bowtie" logo. He ripped off a small piece of it and brought it back to Detroit.
2. Harley Earl, the designer of the Corvette, initially designed his roadster under the name "Project Opel." The original target price was a mere $2,000.
3. The first Corvette actually retailed for $3,513 in 1953. Adjusted for inflation, that's an affordable $31,600!
4. The Corvette is the only vehicle ever to offer a legitimate 'wrap-around' windshield.
5. The original 1953 Corvette offered only two options - a heater for $91 and an AM radio for $145. A Corvette with all the trimmings would set you back a total of $3,753.
6. The 1980 Corvette was the first Corvette to have a speedometer with an upper limit of only 85 mph.
7. The 2009 ZR1 was the first Corvette to be pushed over the 200 mph mark.
